At Nexelix Tech, we believe technology can make education more powerful and accessible. One of our most impactful projects has been the development of the PNB School Anesthesia Blocks mobile app, created in partnership with PNB School, a leading institution in anesthesia education.
The Vision Behind the App
PNB School wanted to create a platform that would simplify the learning of anesthesia blocks and ERAS protocols. Their goal was to help anesthesiologists, residents, and medical professionals around the world gain quick, visual, and practical insights into nerve block procedures and surgical recovery pathways.
- “The challenge was to transform complex medical procedures into a smooth, intuitive, and multimedia-rich digital experience.”
To bring this vision to life, the Nexelix Tech team designed and developed a mobile application for both Android and iOS that delivers:
- Detailed step-by-step procedural guidance
- High-quality labeled videos for accurate learning
- Visuals for patient positioning and probe placement
- Integrated ERAS protocols for abdominal, knee, and hip surgeries
On Android, we used Kotlin and Jetpack to build a highly responsive interface. For iOS, we leveraged Swift and SwiftUI to ensure a modern experience for Apple users. A major focus was video optimization—we ensured smooth playback of large, labeled medical videos without compromising performance, even in low-connectivity environments.
Challenges We Solved
Every project has its unique hurdles, and for PNB School, the biggest were:
- Maintaining a consistent cross-platform experience
- Handling large, high-resolution video files efficiently
- Building for an offline-first approach so users could access learning content without relying on continuous internet
- Guaranteeing user privacy by ensuring no unnecessary data collection
- “By focusing on performance, privacy, and scalability, we built a reliable learning tool trusted by medical professionals worldwide.”
